Here is their love story …… Fredrick is a rescue from Houston, Texas. He is one of 8 pups born to an abandoned pregnant mother who was picked up days before the Hurricane Harvey. Thankfully the pet rescue efforts in Houston paid off for Fredrick, his mom and siblings. I live in Battery Park in downtown Manhattan by the water and work very close to my apartment. I literally went to bed one night and woke up with an extreme urgency to rescue a dog. After combing websites, I came upon the story in Houston about 8 pups newly born to a homeless pregnant mother, now in a foster home. My eyes landed on Fredrick, and that was it. We’ve always grown up with dogs, however, I never really understood the potential to love such a creature and to be loved back so unconditionally. I this point in my life I was very self involved in working and maintaining a Manhattan lifestyle, at 24 years old.
My story of love and learning to care for another, other than myself begins with Fredrick.
