These two little angels, Polly & Molly were born the very last day of 2020. The beginning of 2020 was probably one of the worst years in history that many have experienced. As a society we were ravaged by Covid, and with so many restrictions on what our day to day life. I also lost my little Benji. and packed my car for the East Coast with a very heavy heart.
As I drove East alone, I was feeling a tremendous loss because I was missing my traveling soul-mate Benji. When I arrived on the East Coast, I spent the Winter walking the white sandy beaches of coastal Maine. It all began with my looking at doggies on the internet. I thought that if I got my daily searching for heart-warming puppy pics, I would be satisfied being without a dog strolling the beach. A strong narrative played out in my head. I can’t possibly get a new dog … I will be free now to travel, stay out all night, sleep in, sleep out, etc. We can all relate to THAT conversation swirling around. Right? And I was no exception. Until one day I landed on an adorable little black and white puppy. Honestly, I had never seen that spotted combination with the exception of a Dalmatian. One thing lead to another and I came to find out that these 2 puppies were sisters/littermates. The 1.3 lb Molly was not spoken for, was too little and no one wanted her. That’s all I needed to hear …… I scooped she and her sister Polly up as fast as I could. We 3 live across the street from the Atlantic Ocean, they are such a joy and comfort. I am in the middle of writing our story together in my thoughts day to day. I cherish our journey together and in some strange way, the fact that they are litter mates adds a very special component to their relationship with each other and with me. I have my family of 3 back again.
